  1. Yarg is only officially produced at Netherton Farm near Bodmin Moor.
  2. The original Recipe for Yarg cheese was giving to Netherton Farm by Allan and Jenny Gray.
  3. Yarg is Gray backwards, after it's recipe owners (see point 2)
  4. The green outer covering is actually nettle leaves, or wild garlic leaves on wild garlic Yarg.
  5. Using leaves as a cheese preservative has only survived in Cornwall
  6. The cheese dates back to the 13th Century
  7. A full wheel of Yarg is often used as the lower tier of a cheese wedding cake (no, I'm not making this up)
