7 classifications of close encounters

1. 1st - A sighting of one or more unidentified flying objects
2. 2nd - An observation of an UFO and associated physical effects. e.g. Interference with TV or radio reception
3. 3rd - An observation of animate beings observed in association with a UFO sighting
4. 4th - Human obduction by a UFO or its occupants
5. 5th - Bilateral contact events produced through the conscious, voluntary and proactive human-initiated or cooperative communication with extraterrestrial intelligence
6. 6th - UFO incidents that cause direct injury or death
7. 7th - Mating between a human being and extraterrestrial that produces a human-alien hybrid
