- You get to control the soil, so it doesn't matter if your native soil type is wrong for your 'crop'.
- As you do not walk on raised beds the soil doesn't get compacted
- You can plant your 'crop' closer together
- Weeds are much less likely in raised beds
- Raised beds drain better and you only need to water the beds
- Raised beds are easier to maintain and easier to get to without getting your knees muddy
- Pests are less likely to eat your 'crop' and if needed you can protect them with netting attached to the sides of the raised bed
