- 1/5th of all bluebells in the world are located in Britain
- A green woodpecker is also known as a yaffle
- I now know what a red campion flower looks like
- The wren is the now most common bird in Britain
- If all bumble bees were wiped out, man would die in about 7 years from the disruption to the food chain and plant propogation.
- Otters store a layer of air between their outer and inner coat to act as insulation. This gets expelled when they swim and has to be 'rubbed' back in afterwards.
- Unlike most other butterflies, Peacock butterflies hibernate over winter.
