"Recent studies indicate that almost 75 per cent of the world’s most extraordinary threatened mammals are receiving little or no conservation attention. The EDGE of Existence programme aims to conserve the world's most Evolutionarily Distinct and Globally Endangered species by implementing the research and conservation actions needed to secure their future."

  1. Long-beaked echidna (Zaglossus bruijni)
  2. Aye-aye (Daubentonia madagascariensis)
  3. Indri (Indri indri)
  4. Golden-rumped elephant shrew (Rhynchocyon chrysopygus)
  5. Bumblebee bat (Craseonycteris thonglongyai)
