  1. 70% of the Earths surface is covered by oceans
  2. Ocean water is, on average, 3.5% salt
  3. The total oceanic volume is approximately 1,300 million cubic kilometers
  4. The deepest point in the ocean is the Marianas Trench at 10,923 meters at its deepest point
  5. At the deepest point in the ocean the pressure is more than 8 tons per square inch

  7. The largest waterfall on Earth is actually underwater. It is found in the Denmark Strait, and slowly cascades downward for 2.2 miles.
