Friday, 23 January 2009 7 gremlins of grammar

  1. Join clauses good, like a conjunction should.
  2. Remember to not ever spilt infinitives.
  3. Writing carefully, dangling participles must be avoided.
  4. Use apostrophe's correctly.
  5. A preposition is not a good word to end a sentence with.
  6. Make each singular pronoun agree with their antecedents.
  7. Above all, avoid clichés like the plague.
Credit for today's list goes to 'Good grammar in one hour' by Graham King, a great little book for brushing up on your grammar.
