Today's post comes from my Dad, thanks Dad :)

  1. Every second 4 million tons of hydrogen is destroyed in explosions<7li>
  2. The core temperature is 15 million degrees C
  3. It radiates more energy than man has used since the dawn of civilisation in one second
  4. The Earth's entire oil, coal and wood reserves would fuel the suns output to the Earth alone in only a few days
  5. Tongues of hydrogen flame leap from the sun’s surface with a force of 1000 million hydrogen bombs
  6. In the sun’s core 564 million tons of hydrogen fuse each second to form helium
  7. Matter at the core of the sun is so hot that a pinhead of it would give off enough heat to kill a man 100 miles away
