  1. Saxon Ale Bucket - made without foot or stand so that the contents had to be drunk before putting the container down.
  2. Norse Skull Cup – literally the skull of the Norse man’s enemy used in barbaric drinking sessions.
  3. Mazer – a drinking vessel made from maple wood.
  4. Fuddling Cup – a puzzle jug that would spill the contents when the drinker attempted to drink from it.
  5. Biblical Bottle – made from the complete skin of a kid.
  6. Black-jack – Made of a large piece of leather stitched up the back and often lined with pitch
  7. Toby Jug – Made from glazed pottery and shaped in the form of a rotund seated toper.
